Hmmm....

The relaxed life of a Goan!

When I decided to have a blog of my own - yesterday - I had no idea what I was going to post everyday. So yesterday midnite I was at the computer, connected to the NET, busy thinking of a name for my blog. The name 'Susegad' seemed like an apt one, because right now that is how life has become for me. Susegad or Relaxed as we would call it in English. Goa does that to you.

I am no newcomer to Goa. I was born on the 6th of September, 1980, in Margao, Goa. Just three days before the New Moon. The sky was dark with a very thin crescent to light it up. I didn't see it obviously, but that's what the calendar says. Since then, I've been living in Goa :-) with occasional trips outside Goa.

Though my parents are natives of Tamilnadu, I've never seen the state except on a map and on Google Earth. My parents and my only kid brother have been to Tamilnadu. I just wasn't interested. But someday I will go there.

I've been to other interesting and not so interesting places. I've been to Pune, accompanying a friend for his job interview, I've been to Powaii, Mumbai, when I'd got a job with Wipro Spectramind, Driven & Rode to Mangalore and back about four times with Deepak, been to Kerala many times, and the jewel of all my travels; my trekking and camping trip to the majestic Himalayan mountains. Thanks to the YHAI, one of my dreams was fulfilled in May 2001, when I arrived at the base camp in Kasol, Himachal Pradesh.

Life has been an interesting journey since the time I have started understanding things. Understanding the purpose I am here. Last night I could not add anything to the blog. Ooops! Post anything! Because I was feeling very sleepy after the 2 beers.

Last night, Luis & I, took a beer bottle each, 'parcelled' two Chicken Hakka Noodles and went and sat at a very lonely stretch of road outside the city, in front of SMRC. I tuned in to FM on the new portable radio that I have bought and the crystal clear voice of RJ Bambino came over. It was Thursday night, time for playing old, classic country songs. I was lying down on the road, staring at the vast expanse of the dark sky, dotted with the stars and one big spotlight. Yesterday was a full moon. The sky looked beautiful and the moment was enhanced by the soft country music from the radio. Another of the things that I've always wanted to do, and always will do again and again. Someday with my life partner.

Hmm... That, I think, should suffice for today. It's just the beginning of the day. I wonder what the day has in store for me.
